The Story of "iV Tees"

True Story: I ended up sequestered in a hotel room in Santa Monica and only allowed out four times a day. 30 minutes for breakfast, lunch and dinner and another 45 minutes to go to either the pool or the gym. I couldn’t talk or look at anyone. People with headphones and walkie talkies followed me around and no one knew where I was or what I was doing. Being a person who thrives on interacting with other people I basically about went crazy.

I had been selected as one of the top 50 finalists for Mark Burnett’s “The Apprentice”. I never made the show, I was cut (I was told) after they found out I had a potential show about entrepreneurs in the works. Big no-no in TV land to have two shows in the works, especially when one is a reality show where you are a potential contestant.

I was frustrated and intrigued at the same time by the idea that here was Mark Burnett, with 50 of the countries top minds, all in one place – just dying to do something and solve business problems. I began to imagine how many problems we could solve and then wondered if it would be possible to start a company in a day and start generating revenue within a couple of weeks.

With 50 of us there, imagine the impact we could have if we all did this? So on a whim, I decided to prove that this was possible as I chose a business that is simple, easy, fast and fun to get going, and its great branding for all the other things I am involved in.

As a result, I started a little tee shirt venture that would brand everything that we, as entrepreneurs, are about. The saying “Entrepreneurs are Sexy” was inspired by the idea that being able to change the world by doing the things we love is about the sexiest thing I can imagine!
